Upgraded Shamrock Shake for St. Patrick’s Day Recovery

Upgraded Shamrock Shake for St. Patrick’s Day Recovery

The bright green Shamrock Shake is a St. Patrick’s Day fast food cult classic originally created in the 1970’s. While there is a lot to love about the nostalgia of a Shamrock Shake, there is also a lot not to love - like 58g of sugar brought to you via 3 different kinds of added sugar:

  • Liquid sugar
  • High fructose corn syrup
  • Corn syrup

Fortunately, we can do better. Way better. We can re-create the green glow (food dye not included) and delicious creaminess of a Shamrock Shake with no added sugars, 30+ grams of protein, and high-powered antioxidants to help boost recovery. Here’s how to do it. Combine the following in a blender.

  • 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 cup chopped kale
  • 1 tsp powered green tea
  • 3-4 ice cubes
  • 1 Packet VitaHustle Vanilla (Whey or Vegan)
  • 1-2 drops of peppermint extract
  • 1 cup water

Blend until smooth (but thick) and enjoy! If you want a thicker shake, you can add more ice. If you are going to use this as a recovery shake and want a slightly higher carb/calorie amount, increase the amount of frozen banana by ½ to 1 full banana. This will also make the shake thicker.
