Our purpose at VitaHustle is to power our customer’s lives by providing the highest quality and most innovative nutrition products on the market. We believe this must go above and beyond the standard; it means revolutionizing the transparency into what you consume, where these ingredients come from, and why they are important for your performance in life. We also strive to make the health of our environment a priority.
To that end, we have made some changes to our men’s and women’s multivitamins to make them healthier, more effective and more sustainable. And they’re now also completely vegan, which means that now, everyone can fuel their hustle.
We Removed Titanium Dioxide
Titanium dioxide is often used as a coloring agent in white foods, such as dairy products, candy, frosting and the powder on donuts. It is also added to many supplements that come in pill form to enhance their white color or opacity, and is used to increase shelf life and prevent spoilage in foods that are sensitive to UV light (titanium dioxide is also an ingredient in many topical sunscreens). While the Food and Drug Administration categorizes titanium dioxide as safe, the International Agency for Research on Cancer lists it as a substance that may be carcinogenic when consumed but lacks sufficient animal and human research. Titanium dioxide has also been linked to lung damage and kidney damage. It will, therefore, no longer be used in VitaHustle men’s or women’s multivitamins.
We Added BioPerine for Improved Nutrient Absorption
The addition of BioPernine to our multivitamin increases the bioavailability of nutrients like vitamins A, B6 and C, selenium, beta-carotene and others by up to 30%, which means you will absorb more of these nutrients into your body. BioPerine is an extract made from black pepper fruits, or peppercorns. We are all familiar with the spicy or hot taste and mouth sensation of pepper, and that heat is representative of the thermogenic compounds in peppers. They increase your body temperature and metabolism, which results in an increased demand for nutrients. Because of its effect on metabolism, BioPerine may also facilitate weight loss.
We Changed Our Source of Vitamin D from Sheep's Wool to Lichen
Lichens are unique organisms that are actually a combination of two plants – fungus and algae - living as one. They grow all over the world, from deserts to the arctic, on the sides of trees, on rocks and on top of soil. Because Lichens need to protect themselves from the sun’s harmful rays, they produce vitamin D as a shielding mechanism and in the same form that humans produce when exposed to sunlight. Switching to this form of vitamin D, made by VegaDelight, means VitaHustle’s multivitamins are now completely vegan and made from natural, sustainable ingredients.
